McKinney CVB welcomed Chris and Mike from Tempest along with representatives from four other local DMOs for an exciting and collaborative iDSS training session.
While in McKinney, we were able to find some awesome places to eat and even went for a run to check out the views.
If You Go...
Local Yocal BBQ and Grill has great food and happy hour right by downtown McKinney. The bartenders were incredibly knowledgeable on the beer and whiskey selection and made recommendations for places nearby. The BBQ was out of this world and served in true Texas style, with the sauce on the side.
The Grand Hotel is a beautiful, historic hotel set right in downtown McKinney. The rooms were unlike any we had stayed in before, and we even joked neither of us had seen ceilings so high before. The hotel bar is not to be missed either, with a speakeasy set up and great selection.
Social Living Coffee Shop is an awesome coffee shop located right next door to the Grand Hotel not only had fantastic coffee and espresso, but great food as well. They specialized in waffles, with various toppings that were ready in minutes.
One of my favorite things to do in a new city is to get a run in and see the sights. McKinney had a fantastic urban trail system, highlighted by Towne Lake Recreation Center, where a one-ish mile, paved loop circled a small lake, in addition to several other paths surrounding the woods.
