We are looking for a passionate, professional, and friendly Business Development Professional to join our team. You will be responsible for developing new business opportunities for Tempest solutions including iDSS, Web, Agency Services, and Destination Signals.
You are passionate about the Destination industry, and the positive impact Destination Organizations make on their local communities. You love building and nurturing relationships and creating long-lasting partnerships with Destination Organizations across North America.
You are just as comfortable presenting to one person via zoom as you are networking at a tradeshow of thousands. You are a seasoned traveler and thrive on the energy of a tradeshow and developing and closing business.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone who is passionate about the Destination Industry and wants to create partnerships with Destination Organizations to build powerful assets for their community.
A Day in the Life of a Business Development Manager at Tempest
Building new and strengthening existing relationships with Destination Organizations through phone calls and emails.
Conducting “pre-show” research, and develop strategy for effect industry event ROI
Attending industry events, and building new and strengthening existing relationships with Destination Organizations
Keeping our CRM information updated, and analyzing data for trends and opportunities.
Conducting a CRM and Web demos via Zoom/Google Meet.
Managing documents, reports, and agreements through G-suite and DocuSign.
Brainstorming with the product team on new features and functionality based on prospect feedback.
Traveling to meet face to face with our clients and prospects and their local community.
Ability to uncover DMO needs and then lead development of impactful and persuasive bid that provide solutions to their needs.
Skills
Familiarity working with Google Workspace (Google Drive, Sheets, and Docs)
Experience using a CRM to track sales activities
Knowledge of tourism CRM platforms, website design and development, and digital media
Professional communication style in email, phone, and in-person
Positive attitude and team approach
Sales experience in the Destination Marketing industry to include both Destination
Marketing Organizations (DMO’s) and Sports Commissions.
Successful track record in outbound sales
