Angela Val Joins Tempest as Chief Operating Officer

PHILADELPHIA (June 17, 2021) – Tempest – an integrated agency that helps Destination Marketing Organizations strengthen their local communities – today announced that Angela Val will join its growing team as Chief Operating Officer effective June 30. In this role, Val will be responsible for supporting the internal and external growth of the organization as Tempest continues to help destinations around the world welcome back travelers through powerful digital solutions including website development, cloud software and marketing. Val will also continue in her role as Executive Director of Ready. Set. Philly! – a yearlong initiative to reopen and relaunch the city’s economy following the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Val joins Tempest with nearly two decades of experience in the destination marketing industry. Most recently, Val served as the Chief Administration Officer at the Philadelphia Convention & Visitors Bureau (PHLCVB) where she oversaw government and external affairs while managing the day-to-day operations of the organization. Prior to joining the PHLCVB, Val was the Deputy Executive Director of the Philadelphia 2016 Host Committee for the 2016 Democratic National Convention (DNC). Val also previously worked for Visit Philadelphia – the city’s official tourism marketing agency – for 16 years, where she concluded her tenure as the Chief External Affairs Officer.
